R.A.T. RAPID ASSAULT TACTICS 3.0
Rapid Assault Tactics (R.A.T.): The Combat System Trusted by Elite Operators,
Now Evolved with R.A.T. 3.0.Rapid Assault Tactics (R.A.T.) is a cutting-edge
hand-to-hand combat system originally developed by Sifu Paul Vunak for U.S. Navy
SEAL Team Six, also known as DEVGRU (Naval Special Warfare Development Group).
As Tier 1 operators tasked with the most critical missions—special operations,
counter-terrorism, and hostage rescue—these warriors needed a combat system
that was simple, direct, and effective. R.A.T. was created with these needs in mind,
focusing on real-world practicality and adaptability to unpredictable combat situations.

R.A.T.’s Foundation
Sifu Paul Vunak, a Full Instructor under Dan Inosanto in Jeet Kune Do Concepts
and Filipino Martial Arts, developed R.A.T. as an integration of the most
effective elements of martial arts tailored for high-stakes combat. It focuses
on four primary principles:
Please Note we also offer the Original R.A.T. If you wish to take that one

Interception
Neutralizing an attack at its inception.
Destruction
Targeting and damaging the attacker’s ability to continue the fight.
Pressure
Maintaining aggression to overwhelm the opponent.
Termination
Ending the confrontation quickly and decisively.
This methodology is rigorously trained to become second nature, ensuring practitioners can act reflexively under duress. R.A.T. has been adopted not only by SEAL Team Six but also by the FBI, CIA, DEA, Department of Defense, and numerous other military and law enforcement agencies globally.
The Evolution: R.A.T. 3.0
Mr. Traylor Recognizing the evolving nature of modern combat, R.A.T. 3.0 expands on the original system by incorporating advanced firearms training into its curriculum. This new evolution ensures operators and practitioners are not only masters of hand- to-hand combat but also highly proficient with firearms.
The firearms training in R.A.T. 3.0 includes:

Weapons Handling
& Safety
Emphasizing safe firearm usage and situational awareness.
Firearms Proficiency
Ensuring competency with a wide range of firearms, including pistols, rifles, and shotguns.
Weapon Malfunction Clearing
Teaching techniques to quickly and effectively resolve firearm malfunctions under stress.
Marksmanship
Focusing on precision shooting under various conditions, from static to dynamic scenarios.
Tactical Reloads
A tactical reload is reloading a weapon that has only fired a few rounds out of its magazine, and retaining the original magazine.
Combat Reloads
is the action of reloading a weapon in a very short amount of time by ejecting the currently empty magazine with one hand without retaining it, and drawing as well as loading a fresh magazine with the other hand.
Close-Quarters Shooting
Training for confined environments where firearms engagement overlaps with hand-to-hand combat.
Weapon Retention
Ensuring operators can maintain control of their firearm during close-contact encounters.
The Art of
the Draw
Ensuring operators can maintain control of their firearm during close-contact encounters.
Transitioning Skills
Seamlessly transitioning between firearms and hand-to-hand combat when required.
Scenario-Based Drills
Applying skills in realistic, high-stress environments to simulate urban and battlefield scenarios.
Prerequisites for R.A.T. 3.0
Due to the advanced nature of the curriculum, R.A.T. 3.0 requires all participants to
have prior firearms experience. This ensures that individuals entering the program
have a foundational understanding of firearm handling and safety.
-
For Those Without Firearms Experience: Participants must first complete an approved
firearms training course covering basic handling, safety protocols, and marksmanship.
This foundational training is critical to ensure safety and maximize the effectiveness of
the R.A.T. 3.0 program.
By requiring this prerequisite, R.A.T. 3.0 maintains the highest standards of safety and
readiness, ensuring that all participants are prepared to engage in the program’s rigorous training.

A Comprehensive Approach to Combat
R.A.T. 3.0 builds on its legacy by combining the core elements of hand-to- hand combat with modern firearms tactics, creating a holistic system that addresses every range of combat. Whether the threat is close-quarters, intermediate, or at range, practitioners are prepared to respond effectively.
This evolution reflects the demands of modern urban environments, where personal safety and preparedness are paramount. The inclusion of firearms training makes R.A.T. 3.0 a complete combat system, trusted by elite operators, law enforcement professionals, and reality-based self-defense practitioners worldwide.

Why Choose R.A.T. 3.0?
R.A.T. 3.0 is not just a training program; it is a philosophy rooted in adaptability, efficiency, and real-world application. Its simplicity ensures it can be learned quickly, while its depth allows for continuous growth and refinement. Whether you are a professional in law enforcement, military, security, or a civilian seeking to improve your defensive capabilities, R.A.T. 3.0 provides the tools necessary to navigate today’s complex and often dangerous urban environments.
For those who demand the best in self-defense and tactical training, R.A.T. 3.0 stands as the ultimate system for modern combat readiness.
